Alberta Emergency Alert issued about 4 armed, dangerous suspects in area of Sunchild, O’Chiese First Nations

An Alberta emergency alert was issued Monday afternoon warning that four armed and dangerous individuals were in an area of west central Alberta.

Officials issued an emergency alert on Monday warning people in the areas of Sunchild and O’Chiese First Nations about four armed, dangerous individuals. (Government of Alberta)

Rocky Mountain House RCMP are investigating multiple firearms complaints in the Sunchild and O’Chiese First Nations following an Alberta emergency alert that was issued Monday afternoon.

RCMP warned that four armed and dangerous individuals were in an area of west central Alberta.

Two of the men have been identified as 28-year-old Colin Beaverbones and 25-year-old Boyd Beaverbones.

All of the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. RCMP said they were last seen driving a gold-coloured SUV with a cargo box on the roof rack but did not specify when.

The dangerous person alert, sent at 1:17 p.m. by RCMP, is in effect for the entire area of Sunchild and O’Chiese First Nations.

“If you are in the area of Sunchild and O’Chiese First Nations, you should immediately shelter in place,” the alert said.

The Sunchild First Nation is about 140 kilometres northwest of Red Deer. The O’Chiese First Nation is about 16 kilometres north of the Sunchild First Nation. 

Officials say any suspicious activity should be reported to 911. 

Members of the public are asked not to post details of police activity to social media accounts.
