The brand is owned by South Korean food giant, Pulmuone, which manufactures a variety of products, including tofu, noodles, dumplings and kimchi.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Pulmuone Green Juice specialises in dual-format products, specifically tablet supplements in the bottle lid and a functional beverage in the bottle body.
This dual-format has been gaining prominence in the dietary supplements space, particularly in the country, over the past year.
Noting the continuous increase in demand for products that “help consumers manage blood sugar easily in their daily lives”, especially among young people, the brand introduced Dangslim X2 in late August last year.
The product claims to provide blood sugar care and support intestinal health simultaneously.
Each 130ml bottle comprises 340mg (two tablets) of corosolic acid extracted from Banaba leaf, which is said to “meet 100% of the daily recommended intake” by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and help suppress the rise in blood sugar after meals.
The liquid portion is a lactobacillus drink formulated with Lactobacillus plantarum PMO08, a probiotic strain isolated from kimchi. It also contains 5g of dietary fibre and 4g of sugar per bottle, making it a “high-fibre, low-sugar product”.
According to a statement by Pulmuone Green Juice on January 16, 2025, more than 350,000 bottles of Dangslim X2 were sold in four months since its launch.
Besides the product’s functionality, other key purchasing factors were attributed to convenience and taste.
“Dangslim X2 has captured the hearts of consumers because of its convenience — the fact that it can be consumed as a health functional food and a probiotic drink in one bottle, and that it can be taken regularly by having it delivered to their homes or offices.
“Red vegetables like tomatoes, beets, and carrots provide a subtle sweetness and sour flavour. The product has received positive responses for its taste from consumers, such as ‘the texture of chia seeds is good when chewed’ and ‘it makes you feel full when taken on an empty stomach’,” the brand wrote.
The product is available at Pulmuone’s official online shopping mall and Pulmuone Green Juice’s store on e-commerce platform Naver Smart Store.
Tapping into low-sugar trend
Capitalising on the low-sugar trend, Pulmuone Green Juice looks to develop new low-sugar beverages targeted at consumers who consider sugar content when purchasing products.
“We are happy that Dangslim X2 is receiving love from many customers as it aligns with the blood sugar care trend. We plan to work on improving consumer satisfaction and alleviate their concerns [about sugar content] by introducing additional low-sugar drinks in the future,” said Lee Do-hyun, Product Manager of Pulmuone Green Juice.
At the same time, the brand has been actively expanding its portfolio of cross-category health functional foods, while aiming to gain a bigger foothold in this market.
Its current line-up includes Can Love X2 (green juice and tablets containing milk thistle and B vitamins), Heart Love X2 (red beet and carrot juice, and tablets containing red yeast and vitamins), I Love X2 (bilberry juice and tablets containing lutein and zinc), and We Love X2 (cabbage and broccoli juice, and tablets containing Green Cera).
