UN Security Council endorses US-proposed plan for Gaza ceasefire

The UN Security Council approved a US-sponsored resolution calling on Hamas to accept a ceasefire proposal, with 14 votes in favour and one abstention from Russia. The US says Israel has already agreed to the deal.
